In this sketch, available as a greeting card, I've captured the iconic Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. The museum's distinctive red buildings stand out prominently against the backdrop of the historic waterfront, embodying the rich maritime heritage of this UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The sketch depicts the museum's eye-catching vermilion exterior, a color traditionally used on many Nova Scotian fishing buildings for its durability and visibility in foggy conditions. I've rendered the museum's multiple structures, including the main building and adjacent wharf, which together form a striking complex on the Lunenburg harbor.
In the foreground of the sketch, you see a traditional wooden dory, a flat-bottomed boat that has been integral to Atlantic Canada's fishing industry for centuries. Dories were essential to the region's cod fishery, used by fishermen to set and haul lines and nets from larger schooners. These versatile boats were known for their stability and ability to be stacked on the decks of larger vessels, making them ideal for long fishing expeditions on the Grand Banks.
As a visitor to the Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic, you can explore a wealth of exhibits and artifacts that bring Lunenburg's maritime history to life. The museum houses an extensive collection of fishing equipment, model ships, and interactive displays that showcase the evolution of the fishing industry in Nova Scotia. - For my original work I use Copic, and Winsor and Newton alcohol-based ink markers.

PACKAGING
Prints: All prints are packaged with love, sealed in an eco-friendly, compostable cello sleeve made of plant fibers with thick backing cardboard and mailed in a non-bend envelope to ensure the print remains in perfect condition.
Greeting Cards: All cards are blank inside and a kraft envelope is included. All greeting cards are packed in a clear cellophane bag.
